1861 Harvard Football |
Amazing letter which is one of the earliest descriptions of American Football in the World. It was written on October 27, 1861 at Harvard University. It mentions Football and how it was banned at Harvard and the students went up the previous year and ceremoniously buried the Football and did not play in 1860, but then they took the chances of expulsion and had a game in 1861. It goes into detail about the game and it is one of the most important early Football items in the hobby! It also goes into Freshman hazing quite extensively! |
